BENGALURU:
The Hubballi-Bengaluru super fast train service has been reinstated, much to the relief of the public. Previously, this service was abruptly canceled due to a lack of passengers, which sparked a significant outcry.
Responding to the growing agitation from the public, the railway department has taken swift action and reintroduced the special train service between Hubballi and Bengaluru. Commencing on November 30, the superfast special train 07339/07340 will once again operate on this route. In fact, the Ministry of Railways has even extended the service until February 29, 2024, in order to cater to the demand.
“It is decided to restore Train No. 07339 / 07340 SSS Hubballi – KSR Bengaluru – SSS Hubballi Superfast Express from SSS Hubballi from 30.11.2023 to 29.02.2024 and from KSR Bengaluru from 30.11.2023 to 01.03.2024 with existing timings, stoppages and fare structure,” said Aneesh Hegde, Chief Public Relations Officer, South Western Railway.
The decision to cancel the daily special services of 07339/40 had caught passengers off guard, leaving them both surprised and concerned. Many passengers expressed skepticism regarding the explanation provided by railway authorities, leading to widespread outrage on social media. Furthermore, there was evidence suggesting that the train was consistently overcrowded, further fueling the public’s frustration.
Now, with the resumption of the Hubballi-Bengaluru super fast train service, travelers can breathe a sigh of relief. This development not only addresses the concerns raised by the public but also demonstrates the responsiveness of the railway department in catering to the needs of its passengers.
The train will have a composition of 1 – AC Two Tier Coach, 1 – AC Three Tier Coach, 11 Second Class Sleeper Coaches, 4 – General Coaches and 2 – Second Class Luggage cum Brake Vans / Divyangjan Coaches.
