BENGALURU:
The state government on Monday appointed P Rajendra Cholan as secretary to the Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar.
“Rajendra Cholan P., IAS, (KN: 2008), Additional Chief Electoral Officer, DPAR (Elections) Karnataka, Bengaluru is transferred with immediate effect and posted until further orders to the newly created post of Secretary to Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister vide Government Order No. DPAR 201 SAS 2023, dated 31.07.2023,” the order reads.
The Post of Secretary to Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister has been declared equivalent in status and responsibilities to the cadre post of Director of Municipal Administration under 12 of IAS (pay) Rules, 2016 in the Senior Scale of IAS as included in the Schedule-B of the said Rules, the order reads.
Cholan is said to be one of the trustworthy IAS officials in the DKs camp. In past Cholan has worked with DK when he was Energy Minister.
