BBMP chief says beneficiaries can get free food sans ID till May 24
BENGALURU:
BBMP Chief Commissioner Gaurav Gupta has announced that beneficiaries of the free food packets being distributed at Indira Canteens in Bengaluru from Wednesday, May 12, do not require to show identification proof.
An earlier BBMP order had stated that the poor, migrant workers and labourers have to provide identification proof to in order to obtain the free food packets being distributed free of cost till May 24, the end of the current statewide lockdown.

Informed of the trouble faced by the beneficiaries in obtaining the food packets, the BBMP Chief Commissioner issued a clarification that identification proof is not mandatory.
