New cabinet sub-committee to decide whether to accept or drop watchdog’s recommendations
BENGALURU:
Doubts about the BJP government’s sincerity in rooting out corrupt bureaucrats have surfaced after the government constituted a cabinet sub- committee to take a call on whether to accept the charges/recommendations made by the Lok Ayukta and the Upa Lokayukta.

The cabinet sub-committee will be headed by Deputy CM.Govind Karjol, while Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister KS Eshwarappa, Revenue Minister R Ashoka, Primary and Secondary Education Minister S Suresh Kumar, Law and Parliamentary Minister JC Madhuswamy, and Women and Child Welfare Minister Shashikala Jollie are members of the committee.
The committee is empowered to accept or reject the Lok Ayukta’s recommendation for a departmental enquiry against Group A officers accused of graft.
