Allaying public fears over the situation in Bengaluru, the CM said a centralised bed allotment system and a helpline were in place in the state capital. He urged citizens to reach out to him or his ministers if ambulances were not available or hospitals denied treatment.
He appealed to migrant workers from other parts of Karnataka not to leave Bengaluru for their villages, saying it was necessary to prevent the spread of the coronavirus in the rural areas.

The CM said the BIEC facility would be operational in a week, but would be resorted to only when all beds in city hospitals were full. He said the facility would have 2, 200 personnel, comprising a team of one doctor, 2 nurses, 2 attendants, a sanitation worker, 2 BBMP marshals and a police attachment for every 100 patients. The facility had a tie-up with nearby hospitals in case of any emergency.
