Bengaluru: Kannada television actress Rashmi Leela passed away on Monday after battling a serious lung condition for several years. She had been suffering from pulmonary fibrosis and was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bengaluru. According to sources close to the family, she had recently undergone a lung transplant after suitable donors were identified. Despite continued medical care following the transplant procedure, her condition deteriorated and she succumbed to the illness.

The news of her demise was shared by her husband, Sarakki Manju, through social media posts. Earlier in the morning, he had appealed emotionally, stating that her heartbeat was dropping rapidly and urging well-wishers to pray for her recovery. Hours later, he confirmed her passing with another post announcing that she was no more.

Rashmi Leela had reportedly been battling pulmonary fibrosis since 2019. In February this year, she underwent a lung transplant as part of her treatment. Last August, she had sought financial assistance through social media, mentioning that ₹19 lakh was required for her medical expenses.

Her death has left fans and members of the Kannada television industry in deep shock, with many expressing condolences and remembering her contributions to the small screen.
