Bengaluru: The Karnataka Cabinet on Thursday approved a wide-ranging set of policy and development decisions spanning social justice, education, artificial intelligence, transport, healthcare, housing and tourism, marking one of the most comprehensive Cabinet clearances in recent months.

40 Acres Land for Dalit & Backward Class Mutts

In a major social justice initiative, the Cabinet approved the allotment of 40 acres of land to 22 religious mutts belonging to Dalit and Backward Classes in Survey Nos. 57 and 58 of Ravuthanahalli village, Dasanapura Hobli, Bengaluru North taluk.
The beneficiary institutions will be required to pay a nominal amount equivalent to 5–10% of the sub-registrar value of the agricultural land to the government.

Age Relaxation for Government Jobs

The Cabinet also cleared a proposal granting five years of age relaxation for all categories in recruitment to vacant posts in the state civil services. This relaxation will apply to all relevant notifications issued up to December 31, 2027.

₹100 Crore Housing for Nomadic Communities

To address housing needs of nomadic and semi-nomadic communities, the government approved ₹100 crore for the construction of 600 sq ft houses, aimed at ensuring dignified living conditions for vulnerable sections.

AI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru

In a major technology push, the Cabinet approved the establishment of an AI Centre of Excellence (AI-CoE) named “CATS – Centre for Applied AI for Tech Solutions” at the KEONICS facility in HSR Layout, Bengaluru, in collaboration with NASSCOM, at an estimated cost of ₹20 crore.

Healthcare Boost: Dialysis Rates Hiked

For government health centres in the Kalaburagi division, the Cabinet approved an increase in in-house dialysis service rates from ₹1,000 to ₹1,300 per session, aiming to improve quality and sustainability of dialysis services.

Land Lease Extension for Maharani Lakshmi Ammanni College Trust

The Cabinet revised the lease tenure of one acre of land allotted to the Maharani Lakshmi Ammanni College Trust, Malleswaram, extending it for 30 years with effect from September 11, 2008.

KAAMS Extended to School Education Department

The Karnataka Advanced Attendance Management System (KAAMS) has been fully extended by the Centre for e-Governance to cover teaching and non-teaching staff of the School Education Department, strengthening digital governance and accountability.

₹91.55 Crore for Classrooms Under Samagra Shiksha

Under the Samagra Shiksha scheme, the Cabinet approved ₹91.55 crore for construction of classrooms in 3,862 government primary, secondary, senior secondary (PU) and KGBV schools across the state.

Bidar Tourism Development Under Swadesh Darshan 2.0

Bidar city will be developed as a cultural and heritage tourism destination under the Swadesh Darshan 2.0 Challenge-Based Destination Development Scheme, with an estimated cost of ₹25 crore.

650 New BS-VI Buses for State Transport Corporations

To strengthen public transport, the Cabinet approved the procurement of 650 fully built BS-VI mofussil buses for state road transport corporations at a total cost of ₹247 crore.

Greater Bengaluru Authority Monitoring Committee

A committee has been constituted under the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) to review and monitor schemes implemented by five municipal corporations.

CNG Plant at Kolar for Waste Processing

The Cabinet approved allotment of 9 acres 38 guntas of land at Arabikothanur village, Kolar district, to GAIL on a nominal lease for 25 years for setting up a Compressed Biogas (CBG) plant capable of processing 150 tonnes of raw waste daily.

₹145 Crore Nutrition Support for ST Families

Under the nutrition food distribution scheme, the Cabinet cleared ₹145 crore to supply food kits for the next 12 months to 50,046 Scheduled Tribe families across eight districts, with each kit costing approximately ₹2,415.38.
