Shivaginagar superspreader ‘contributes’ 14

In a fresh statewide spike, Karnataka reported 36 new Covid-19 positive cases on Saturday, taking its tally to 1,092.
The second successive local spike was seen in Bengaluru’s Shivajinagar after 14 out of the day’s 36 cases were reported from the containment zone alone, ‘thanks’ to the housekeeping male who has now ‘produced’ 29 positive cases in last several days.
There were eight cases from Kalaburagi, three each from Hassan and Shivamogga, and one each from Davanagere, Bagalkot, Vijayapura, Mandya, Ballari and Udupi.
Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar had said on Friday that the state was witnessing positive cases in those returning from other states and countries, and Covid19 spokesperson and Karnataka’s Primary and Secondary Education Minister S Suresh Kumar reiteriated the same point on Saturday.
As per Kumar, the state saw the recovery of 16 people on Saturday, whuch takes the total number of cured persons to 496 and leaves 559 active cases.
