
State has controlled Covid, says Bommai
BENGALURU:
As India enters the final week of the nationwide lockdown, Karnataka Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai has said that the decision to extend or relax the lockdown after May 3 will be taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
On Monday, speaking from his residence after the PM’s video conference with leaders of states, Bommai told media persons, “Karnataka has controlled Covid-19 in the state. The decision of extending or relaxing the lockdown will be taken as per the decision taken by the Prime Minister.”
“The state government has no intention to continue the lockdown as the government has taken all possible steps to control the spread of Covid-19. The state government will provide all kinds of assistance to people affected by the corona situation. I am confident that an appropriate decision will be taken by the Prime Minister,” he added.
