
Tumakuru/Bengaluru: In a major development for the cooperative sector, former Cooperation Minister and MLA K.N. Rajanna has been elected unopposed as President of the Tumakuru District Central Cooperative (DCC) Bank for the 7th consecutive time. Alongside him, G.J. Rajanna was also elected unopposed as Vice President.
The elections were held at the DCC Bank office on Thursday. Nomination papers were accepted between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., followed by a directors’ meeting. Only K.N. Rajanna filed his nomination for the President’s post, while G.J. Rajanna was the sole candidate for the Vice President’s post. As a result, both were declared elected unopposed by the Election Officer, Tahsildar Nahida Zam Zam.
Celebrations by Supporters
Following the announcement, Election Officer Zam Zam congratulated both leaders with bouquets. Outside the bank premises, jubilant supporters of K.N. Rajanna erupted in celebrations, shouting slogans, bursting crackers, and distributing sweets to mark the historic 7th consecutive victory.
In view of the elections, the road in front of the DCC Bank was closed, and heavy police security was deployed as a precautionary measure to prevent any untoward incidents.
