Belagavi: Newly elected Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) President and former India pacer Venkatesh Prasad met Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar at the Belagavi Circuit House on Wednesday to discuss matters related to the state’s cricket administration and future development plans.
The meeting comes a day after Prasad’s decisive victory in the KSCA elections, where he returned to the top post after 12 years.

Prasad was accompanied by KSCA Secretary Santosh Menon, Vice-President Sujith Somasundar, former Treasurer Vinay Mruthyunjaya, and other senior officials during the courtesy call.
Earlier in the day, Prasad separately met Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar to hold preliminary discussions on cricket infrastructure, stadium management, and coordination between the state government and KSCA.
BDA Chairman and MLA N.A. Haris, MLA Ashok Pattan, and MLC Channaraj Hattiholi were also present during the discussions.
The new KSCA leadership is expected to outline its roadmap soon, focusing on strengthening grassroots cricket, upgrading facilities, and ensuring Karnataka maintains its strong national presence in the sport.
