Tourism, Kannada and Culture Minister C T Ravi
Minister makes it his mission to teach language to non-Kannadigas via twitter
BENGALURU:
Karnataka minister C T Ravi has taken his portfolio — Kannada and Culture — quite seriously! He has set himself the goal of teaching Kannada to non-Kannadigas living in the state. His team will post spoken Kannada lessons daily on his twitter handle
In several tweets, he has asked for public participation in popularising his initiative, ‘Kali Kannada’ (‘Learn Kannada’).
He tweeted: “I’ve taken up the task of teaching Kannada to all non-Kannadigas residing in Karnataka. They are in Karnataka and they are our people, so it’s our responsibility to teach them our language. I’ll need your help in this task.”
Ravi also tweeted: “My team will be posting spoken Kannada lessons everyday to help non-Kannadigas learn and use our beautiful language.
My team will be posting Spoken Kannada lessons every day to help non-Kannadigas learn & use our beautiful language. I request you all to promote the initiative among your friends and help me reach more and more non-Kannadiga brothers and sisters living in Karnataka.#KaliKannada

The minister has already posted the ‘first lesson’ — basic sentences in English like ‘who are you?’, ‘what is your name?’, and their Kannada equivalents.
