Bengaluru: A 26-year-old woman working at HDFC Bank lost her life in a tragic road accident in Rajajinagar after being hit by a speeding two-wheeler during her lunch break.

The deceased has been identified as Yogeshwari (26), an employee at HDFC Home Loans in Rajajinagar. She was residing in a paying guest accommodation in the city for work.

Incident Details

The accident occurred around 12:45 PM on Monday when Yogeshwari stepped out to collect her lunch. After crossing the road divider, she was struck by a two-wheeler that was reportedly overspeeding in the area. CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced, showing the moment she was hit while attempting to cross the road.

The impact was severe, and both Yogeshwari and the biker fell on the road. While the rider reportedly sustained minor injuries and remained conscious, Yogeshwari suffered critical injuries.

Medical Treatment & Death

She was immediately shifted to a nearby private hospital for emergency treatment. Despite medical efforts, she succumbed to her injuries at approximately 11:30 PM the same night.

Legal Action

An FIR has been registered at Rajajinagar Police Station against the bike rider. The exact cause of the accident is under investigation.

Preliminary information suggests that road conditions in the area, including ongoing white-topping work and partially completed infrastructure, may have contributed to the circumstances of the accident. Authorities are examining CCTV footage and witness statements as part of the ongoing probe.

Further investigation is underway.
