BENGALURU: In a tragic turn of events, a man from Anekal taluk, identified as Praveen Gowda and a BJP worker, took his own life after sharing a distressing video on Facebook. The video detailed a brutal assault he endured at the hands of individuals demanding repayment of loans.
In the video, Gowda expressed his mental distress over the past two months and pointed fingers at specific individuals for his plight. Among those named were Anekal municipal council member Bhagya Srinivas Gowda, Shweta Gowda, Kiran Gowda, Muniraju Gowda, and Bhaskar.
Following the incident, the deceased’s mother is seeking justice for her son. A case has been filed at the Anekal police station. Praveen’s mother, Saraswathamma, filed a complaint, leading to the registration of an FIR against eight individuals, including Kiran Gowda, Srinivas Babu, Harish, Bhaskar Narayanappa, and Madhu Gowda, Bhagya, Muniraju Gowda and Saravana under Section 108 of the BNS Act at the Anekal police station.
According to Praveen’s sister, Soumya, the tragic events unfolded after Praveen lent money to Shweta, who failed to repay despite repeated requests. When Praveen confronted Shweta at her residence, he was ambushed by over 20 individuals, including BJP leader Nayanahalli Muniraju Gowda. The assault was orchestrated to prevent Praveen from seeking repayment from Shweta.
