Duo detained for obstructing team collecting swab samples
MANDYA:
JDS MLC KT Srikante Gowda, his son Krishik Gowda and three others have been booked under the National Disaster Management Act after they obstructed officials from discharging their duties.
The incident happened when the district administration team was collecting swab samples of journalists at Ambdekar Bhavan, which is very close to some low-lying colonies and the residence of the MLC.Â

Krishik Gowda and his supporters barged into the premises and raised objections over the collection of samples of reporters. He also reportedly assaulted one of the reporters. Both father and son have been detained by the police.
The MLC was reportedly opposed to the swab collection venue as he felt the virus could spread in his locality. (See Video) His house is located right behind Ambedkar Bhavan. The MLC told the officials, including Mandya Deputy Commissioner Dr MV Venkatesh and superintendent of police K Parashurama, that he would hold them responsible if there was a virus outbreak.
When contacted, Parashurama told thebengalurulive that duo father-son have been booked under NDMC act and later were released on bail.
