BENGALURU:
Another huge spike of 8,642 new Covid cases was reported in the state in Wednesday, accompanied by a record 126 deaths in the last 24 hours.
The total number of infections in Karnataka is 2,49,590 and the death toll is 4,327.
There were 7,201 discharges statewide on Wednesday, and 1,64,150 recoveries overall. That leaves 81,097 active cases being treated in Covid hospitals.
In Bengaluru, 2,804 cases were reported, along with 56 deaths, taking the city’s death toll to 1,588. A total of 96,910 people have been infected in the city while 62,041 have been discharged. That leaves 33,280 active cases.
