Pray at home during Ramadan, says maulana
‘Don’t visit mosques, avoid gatherings’
BENGALURU:
Hazrat Maulana Maqsood Imran Rashadi, the Khateeb-o-Imam of Jamia Masjid at KR Market, has appealed to Muslims of Bengaluru to pray at home during Ramadan.
He wished everyone for the first roza which begins from Saturday and urged them to do the five-time namaz in their homes.
In a video message shared exclusively with thebengalurulive.com, the maulana appealed to the community not to visit any mosque during the holy month.
He also appealed to them to not spoil the community’s name by conducting common prayers in any hall or terrace or parking lot which could increase the risk of Covid-19 infections.
Due to the Covid-19 lockdown, mosques across the state remain closed. The state and the Central governments have directed that all places of worship should be shut and there cannot be any congregational prayers.
This year, Muslims won’t be able to host large family iftar parties even in their homes, so as to prevent a further viral outbreak.
The maulana added, “Don’t have any get-together in any place or office after breaking your fast, which will bring discredit to you and Islam. Youngsters are requested not to go out on bikes and in cars in the daytime or evening.”
