Bengaluru: Marking the New Year with a major administrative decision, the Karnataka Government has promoted 23 Indian Forest Service (IFS) officers, issuing official orders late Wednesday night.
Several senior officers have been elevated to the rank of Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF), while others have been promoted as Conservators of Forests (CF) and Deputy Conservators of Forests (DCF) across various divisions in the state.
Among the key promotions, Vasanth Reddy K.V., Conservator of Forests, Dharwad Circle, has been promoted as Chief Conservator of Forests, Dharwad Circle.
Dr. Malathi Priya, Conservator of Forests (Working Plan), Mysuru, has been elevated as Chief Conservator of Forests, Chamarajanagar Circle.
Similarly, Dr. Ramesh Kumar P., Conservator of Forests, Mysuru Tiger Project, has been promoted as Chief Conservator of Forests, Mysuru Tiger Project.
Chandrashekar Nayak K., Conservator of Forests, Ballari Circle, has been promoted as Chief Conservator of Forests, Ballari Circle.
Vanathi M.M., Deputy Conservator of Forests at the Bengaluru Central Office, has been elevated as Conservator of Forests, Forest Resource Management Division, Bengaluru.
Maria Christu Raj D., currently serving at the Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun, has also been promoted as Conservator of Forests.
Several Deputy Conservators of Forests have been promoted and posted in key working plan and territorial divisions.
Ganapathi K. has been promoted as Conservator of Forests (Working Plan), Shivamogga, while Mohan Kumar D. has been elevated as Conservator of Forests (Working Plan), Chikkamagaluru.
Officers including A.V. Suryasen (Bannerghatta Biological Park), Dr. Basavaraj K.N. (Ballari Division), H.C. Balachandra (Karnataka Fisheries Board), Ramesh B.R. (Research Wing, Bengaluru), and Santosh Kumar Kenchapannavar (Gadag Division) have been promoted and retained in their existing posts.
Similarly, Prashanth P.K.M. (Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Limited), Seema P.A. (Nagarahole Tiger Reserve), Shripathi B.S. (BRT Tiger Reserve, Chamarajanagar), and Nirmala N.K. (Koppal Division) have been promoted while continuing in their current assignments.
At the Assistant Conservator level, Kirubanathan R.T. has been promoted and posted as Deputy Conservator of Forests, Hunsur Division, while Prakashkar Akshay Ashok has been elevated and posted to Haveri Division.
Swapnil Manohar Ahire has been promoted as Senior Assistant Conservator of Forests at the Male Mahadeshwara Hills Wildlife Sub-Division, Kollegal.
Abdul Azeez has been promoted and transferred to Kundapura Division, while Mohammed Faiyazuddin has been posted as Deputy Conservator of Forests, Sagar Division.
The promotions are expected to strengthen administrative efficiency and field-level forest governance across Karnataka.
