‘No Confusion From Tomorrow’: Siddaramaiah–DK Shivakumar Reaffirm Unity After Breakfast Meeting

Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar presented a clear message of unity at their joint press conference on Monday, declaring that there will be “no confusion from tomorrow” and dismissing speculation of internal differences.

The press meet, held soon after their high-profile breakfast meeting, was aimed at settling the political chatter surrounding leadership issues and power-sharing debates within the ruling Congress. Both leaders repeatedly emphasised that they are working together and will continue to move forward as a team.

Siddaramaiah, addressing the media, said the recent speculation had been largely manufactured. “Some confusion had been created. It was not from us. A few narratives were built outside. There is no misunderstanding between us,” he stated. He also reminded that even he had acknowledged before the high command that clarity was needed, indicating that the leadership had indeed taken note of the situation.

Shivakumar echoed the Chief Minister’s remarks, saying that the intent of the meeting and the press briefing was to send a unified message to party workers and the public. Both leaders clarified that they had worked together during the 2023 Assembly elections and would continue the same approach for upcoming contests, including the civic body polls and the 2028 Assembly election.

The Chief Minister reiterated that there were “no differences so far and no differences ahead”, stressing that the Congress high command would remain the final authority on all leadership matters. “Whatever the high command decides, both of us will follow,” Siddaramaiah said.

He further stated that misleading narratives from some political opponents and a section of the media had contributed to the temporary confusion. “Some false allegations and accusations were made. That created noise. But we are resolving everything. From tomorrow, there will be no confusion,” he assured.

Both leaders affirmed that they would jointly face the Opposition in the upcoming Assembly session and in all future elections. “We will face everything together — whether it is local body polls or the 2028 Assembly election,” Siddaramaiah said.

The press meet concluded with both leaders reiterating Congress unity and reaffirming that their leadership would function in full coordination as instructed by the party high command.
