In letter to CM, Patil says industrial oxygen can be used for Covid patients
BENGALURU:
Public Accounts Committee chairman HK Patil has called for increased supply of oxygen for Covid patients, pointing out that at least a dozen patients have reportedly died for lack of oxygen availability.
In a letter to Chief Ministert BS Yediyurappa, Patil said that with the growing number of Covid cases in the state, adequate oxygen supplies are crucial.
ಗಂಡಾಂತರದಿಂದ ಜನರನ್ನು ಪಾರು ಮಾಡಿ. pic.twitter.com/ALXNvtHJvN

He called for a task force led by an ‘honest’ officer to look into all aspects of oxygen procurement. He also suggested using industrial oxygen if medical oxygen is in short supply.
Patil proposed that the oxygen output of some factories be earmarked for Covid treatment, adding that Jindal’s oxygen units in Dorangal and Mariammanahalli could be requisitioned for the purpose.
