Yediyurappa, cabinet ministers will attend PM’s virtual conference
BENGALURU:
Amid the surge in Covid-19 cases in Karnataka, several districts have seen a steep increase in the number of infections. As part of his action plan of interacting directly with district Deputy Commissioners and Collectors, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be speaking to the heads of Karnataka’s 17 worst-affected districts on Tuesday.
The virtual meeting will be held at 11 am and will also be attended by Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa and other cabinet ministers.

The 17 districts are reporting high positivity rates. The Prime Minister has expressed his concern over Covid infections spreading to the small towns and villages of the country, and has issued directions to speed up testing in these places.
The Prime Minister will interact with the Deputy Commissioners of Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, Uttara Kannada, Hassan, Ballari, Mysuru, Tumakuru, Kolar, Kodagu, Udupi, Shivammogga, Dharwad, Dakshina Kannada, Raichur, Kalaburagi, Mandya and Chikkaballapur.
