Bengaluru / New Delhi: Speculation is intensifying within political circles that significant developments could unfold in the Karnataka Congress after January 15, with leadership dynamics and a possible cabinet reshuffle back in focus.
According to political observers, both Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar are likely to visit Delhi in the coming weeks, indicating heightened political activity at the high-command level.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to travel abroad shortly, with sources indicating that he is expected to return only after January 9. Analysts believe that key decisions and consultations may take place only after his return, potentially accelerating discussions around cabinet restructuring.
While there is no direct indication of a leadership change, insiders suggest that preparatory groundwork for a cabinet reshuffle is underway, and momentum could pick up once Rahul Gandhi resumes his engagements in Delhi.

Sources also indicate that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has already held discussions with Congress General Secretary K.C. Venugopal, during which it was agreed that detailed deliberations would take place after Rahul Gandhi’s return from his foreign visit.
Notably, no visible signals of high-command intervention have emerged so far, and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has refrained from indicating any immediate action, even as internal speculation continues.
Observers point out that while discussions are ongoing within party circles, no formal opportunity has yet arisen for direct talks between the Karnataka leadership and the top Congress leadership. The coming weeks, especially January, are being closely watched for clarity on the party’s next political move in the state.
