Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has clarified that the ongoing socio-economic and educational survey will not affect citizens’ ration cards in any way, dismissing rumours circulating on social media that participation might lead to card cancellation.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), the Chief Minister termed such fears as “false and baseless misconceptions.”
He stated,
“It is a wrong notion that participating in the survey will lead to the cancellation of ration cards. The data collected through this survey will help the government design and implement several welfare schemes. It will also aid in framing new initiatives for the upliftment of backward and deprived communities.”
The Chief Minister urged people to take part in the survey without fear or hesitation, emphasizing that the information collected will only be used for developmental and welfare planning, not for punitive action.
