BENGALURU:
A new high of 20 coronavirus deaths was recorded in the state on Tuesday, upping the fatalities tally to 246.
Karnataka also witnessed another spike of 947 fresh Covid cases, of which Bengaluru’s share was a huge 503.

Of the day’s casualties, Bengaluru recorded 4 while Ballari recorded 6 — the highest in the state. All the Ballari had a history of breathlessness, fever and coughing.
The other deaths were: 2 each in Haveri and Vijayapura, and one each in Mysuru, Davanagere, Dharwad, Haveri, Belagavi and Kolar.
Bengaluru has reported 95 deaths — the highest in the state — ever since the first Covid positive case was reported in March.
The overall casualties elsewhere in the state are: 29 in Ballari, 19 in Bidar, 18 in Kalaburagi, 12 in Dakshina Kannada, 9 in Vijayapura, 8 each in Dharwad and Davangere, 5 each in Tumakuru, Bagalkot and Ramanagara, 4 in Bengaluru Rural, 3 each in Mysuru and Gadag, 2 each in Haveri, Shivamogga, Raichur, Chikkaballapura, Udupi, Kolar and Belagavi, and one each in Chikkamagaluru, Yadgir and Koppal.
