BENGALURU:
Karnataka’s tableau at the Republic Day parade was adjudged as the second-best amongst 12 states and union territories that had participated in the Republic Day parade on January 26, the defense ministry said on Friday.
The second place went to Karnataka for its tableau based on ‘cradle of traditional handicrafts’.
The Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai tweeted: “Proud that Karnataka’s tableau at the #RepublicDayParade2022 as the ‘Cradle of Traditional Handicrafts’ has won the 2nd place.”

The tableau of Uttar Pradesh was based on the theme ‘one district one product and Kashi Vishwanath Dham’ was adjudged the first best while the Indian Navy’s marching contingent topped among the three services, the ministry added while the third position went to Meghalaya, the defense ministry said.
