
Factories, shops can open
But no let-up for Bengaluru city
The order is effective until May 3

Green zones in Karnataka will see a further relaxation of lockdown-related guidelines, following an order issued by Chief Secretary TM Vijay Bhaskar on Tuesday.
The directive further revises the earlier guidelines and exempts more activities in some districts.
However, the existing rules will continue in some districts of the state, including Bengaluru Urban.
The Chief Secretary has issued the new directives to all departments, district deputy commissioners, superintendents of police, BBMP, police commissioners and other heads of departments.
As per the new guidelines, malls and commercial buildings remain shut. The new guidelines are applicable only to 14 districts, while another 8 districts are still being discussed for exemptions. The order is effective until May 3.
Under these guidelines, trade and commerce activities will be allowed in green zones such as Chamarajanagar, Koppal, Chikkamagalur, Raichur, Chitradurga, Ramanagara, Hassan, Shivamogga, Haveri, Yadagiri, Kolar, Davanagere, udupi and Kodagu.
Further, in these districts, special economic zones, industrial zones, industrial townships and export-oriented sectors will be allowed to function.
Workers are to be accommodated at the workplace, so that they need not travel to their homes, and everywhere 50 per cent of workers must be allowed to work. Shops in residential complexes and market complexes, which were closed, can now open.
In the districts of Bellary, Mandya, Bengaluru Rural, Gadag, Tumkuru, Chikkaballapur, Uttara Kannada and Dharwad, the decision regarding opening of shops and industries in taluks where there are no active Covid-19 cases will be taken by the district in-charge minister concerned.
However, in the districts of Bengaluru Urban, Belagavi, Mysuru, Vijayapura, Bagalkot, Kalaburagi, Bidar and Dakshina Kannada, the existing guidelines will continue to be in force without any change.
