After the first Covid-19 death reported from Kalaburagi, the second fatality in the state is a 75-year-old woman who died in a Bengaluru hospital early on Wednesday.
A native of Hindupur in Andhra Pradesh who came back from Mecca, she was in her son?s house in Gauribidanur since the last nine days. Due to respiratory problems, she was admitted to the Rajiv Gandhi hospital in Bengaluru on Tuesday night.
Karnataka Health Minister B Sriramulu, who heads the Covid-19 task force in the state, tweeted: “The 75-year-old from Gauribidanur, who had just returned from Mecca #Covid19 infected person has died at Bowring Hospital around 1 am. She suffered from diabetes, complaint of heart pain and hip fracture. The cause of death will be confirmed soon after examination reports.”
In another tweet, he said: “She was undergoing treatment at an isolated hospital in Gauribidanur. Later, she was admitted to the Rajiv Gandhi Chest Disease Centre in Bangalore for further treatment. From there she was transferred to Bowring Hospital yesterday.”
