Post Unlock 4, CM has given nod for reopening of bars and pubs
Guidelines coming, decision pending on reopening bars attached to clubs
BENGALURU:
Unlock 4 has brought cheer for party animals who can now get back to their favourite haunts – bars and pubs.
Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has decided to reopen bars and pubs from September 1 – needless to say, with Covid-related restrictions.
A formal order is expected to be issued by the Excise department on Monday. Speaking to thebengalurulive, Excise Commissioner M Lokesh said the department is drafting the necessary guidelines and an order will be issued on Monday. A primary requirement is that not more than 50 people will be allowed inside a bar or pub at any given time, he said.
Bars and pubs have been shut since Lockdown1 was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in March.
Sources said that as per the guidelines, bars and pubs will be allowed to function at only 50 per cent of their seating capacity, and not more than 2 customers can sit at a single table.
