Bengaluru: To manage the anticipated surge in passenger traffic during the upcoming festive season, South Western Railway has announced special express trains between Sir M. Visvesvaraya Terminal (SMVT) Bengaluru and Thiruvananthapuram North.
Two sets of special trains will operate on select dates between August and September 2025, offering a total of 9 round trips to cater to the demand.
Train Services and Schedule:
- Train Nos. 06523/06524 – Weekly Service for Six Trips
Train No. 06523: Departs from SMVT Bengaluru at 7:25 PM every Monday from August 11 to September 15, arriving at Thiruvananthapuram North at 1:15 PM the next day (Tuesday).
Train No. 06524: Returns from Thiruvananthapuram North at 3:15 PM every Tuesday from August 12 to September 16, reaching Bengaluru by 8:30 AM on Wednesday.
- Train Nos. 06547/06548 – Special Service for Three Trips
Train No. 06547: Runs from SMVT Bengaluru at 7:25 PM on August 13, August 27, and September 3 (Wednesdays), arriving at Thiruvananthapuram North the next day at 1:15 PM (Thursday).
Train No. 06548: Returns at 3:15 PM on August 14, August 28, and September 4 (Thursdays), reaching Bengaluru by 8:30 AM on Friday.
Intermediate Stops:
Both services will halt at Krishnarajapuram, Bangarapet, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Podanur, Palakkad, Thrissur, Aluva, Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, Changanaseri, Tiruvalla, Chengannur, Mavelikara, Kayankulam, Kollam, and Varkala Shivagiri, before reaching the final destination.
Coach Composition:
Each train will comprise 20 LHB coaches, including:
2 AC 2-Tier coaches
16 AC 3-Tier coaches
2 luggage-cum-brake vans with generator cars
Passengers are advised to check detailed timings and booking status through the Indian Railways official portal or by dialing helpline number 139.
