Ongoing work on Sanjay Nagar road should not obstruct traffic: Gaurav Gupta

BBMP Chief Commissioner Gaurav Gupta has instructed civic officials to speed up the white-topping of the 80 Feet Road from the Ashwath Nagar entrance to near the MS Ramaiah Hospital road in Sanjay Nagar.

The Chief Commissioner visited the site on Saturday to inspect the ongoing work. Work on the 1 km-long stretch is being carried out at a cost of Rs 9.82 crore by the Projects division of BBMP. The work began in May and white-topping of both sides has been completed in 30 days. The curing process is complete on one side and the road has been opened for traffic, while work on the other side is pending. The underground drainage work on both sides is almost complete while work on the water pipeline, duct tape installation of Bescom and OFC cables, and the footpath is pending and should be completed in 30-40 days, said an official.

The Chief Commissioner said both sides of the road must be opened to traffic post the curing process, while the remaining work should be completed soon without causing obstructions to vehicular movement.
