Bengaluru: A 70-year-old jewellery shop owner lost his life in a tragic road accident after a speeding private bus rammed into his two-wheeler near KR Circle on Nrupathunga Road on Thursday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Parasmal P. Jain (70), a resident of Nagarathpet and a well-known jewellery trader.
According to police, the accident occurred around 10 am when Jain was riding his two-wheeler near the bus stop close to KR Circle. A private bus, allegedly being driven at high speed, crashed into his vehicle, throwing him onto the road.
Jain sustained serious injuries in the impact and was rushed to a nearby hospital. However, doctors declared him dead on arrival, confirming that he had succumbed to injuries sustained during transit.
Following the incident, officials from the Halasuru Gate Traffic Police Station reached the spot, conducted a preliminary inspection and registered a case. Further investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances of the crash and fix responsibility.
The incident has once again raised concerns over rash driving by private buses in Bengaluru’s busy central business district.
