BENGALURU:
The Karnataka government has decided to open relief centres for migrant workers and other vulnerable sections districts where a lockdown is currently underway, and to run Shramik trains after the lockdown ends.
The government has decided to keep open a mustering centre at Tripura Vasini in the Palace Grounds at Bengaluru during the lockdown period. Migrants workers wanting to take Shramik trains to their home states will be accommodated there and provided with food, water and sanitation facilities.

According to a circular of July 15 issued by Principal Secretary (Revenue) N Manjunatha Prasad, who is also the nodal officer on migrant issues, the Labour Department and BBMP will jointly supply meals and dry rations to migrant workers and other vulnerable sections during the current lockdown.
In other districts where a lockdown is underway, the Deputy Commissioners will oversee the relief measures.
According to the circular, the local administrations are to provide TVs with cable connections to the inmates of relief camps.
Apart from Bengaluru, Dharwad, Dakshina Kannada, Kalaburagi (only in urban areas), Bidar, Raichur (in Raichur city and Sindhanur) and Yadgir have announced lockdowns. In Shivamogga there is a partial lockdown daily from 2 pm to 5 am the next day.
