Bengaluru: Strict supervision by senior officials, along with instructions to auto-tippers to collect segregated wet and dry waste door-to-door, has reduced roadside garbage dumping and significantly improved cleanliness standards in Bengaluru, according to BSWML CEO Kareegowda.
He said these measures have led to auto-tipper attendance rising from 85% to 95% across the city, marking a major step forward in solid waste management.

Revised Scanning and Monitoring
The scanning schedule for auto-tippers has been fixed between 5:30 am and 6:30 am. For the past 15 days, BSWML’s top officials—including the CEO, COO, four DGMs, 28 AGMs, and the Chief Marshal—have been conducting daily inspections at nearly 200 mustering centers to verify attendance and monitor pourakarmikas.
Tech-Enabled Oversight
To ensure transparency, a ‘Track Duty’ software has been developed, enabling real-time online verification of officials’ visits to mustering centers.
Kareegowda emphasized that this initiative has not only improved accountability but also contributed to maintaining cleaner streets and better waste segregation practices across Bengaluru.
