BENGALURU:
Roads across the state wore a deserted look and shops remained shut during the second Sunday curfew of July, called by the government to slow down the spread of Covid-19.
Most vehicles, including city buses, autorickshaws, cars and two-wheelers, stayed off the roads and only essential commuting was permitted. Police personnel on duty were seen enforcing the curfew strictly.
While a majority of citizens abided by the curfew rules and remained indoors, there were instances of violations too.
In Bengaluru, police commissioner Bhaskar Rao had appealed to the people on Saturday to abide by the curfew rules and had also warned violators of strict penal action.
