Modi tells state govts to enforce rules
NEW DELHI/BENGALURU
After Sunday’s ‘janata curfew’, it was ‘business as usual’ in public places across the country on Monday. This, despite the rapid advance of the coronavirus pandemic and the announcement of a lockdown in more than ten states.
Alarmed at the lack of seriousness among the public, the Prime Minister tweeted: “Many people are still not taking the lockdown seriously. Please save yourself, save your family, follow the instructions seriously. I request the state governments to get the rules and laws followed.”
Similarly, Karnataka Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar tweeted: “It is shocking that some people do not take the COVID-19 infection seriously. Please be safe, protect yourself, and follow the government guidelines and lockdown very seriously.”
