
BENGALURU:
Online education is allowed again for classes 1 to 5, following guidelines of the Union Ministry of Human Resources Development and the advice of the Karnataka High Court. The rule will apply to all boards in the state. The order also bars collection of fees for online classes.
The new order by the Education Department states, “Pre-primary classes do not have online classes. But it can provide one day a week online communication and guidance with parents, not to exceed 30 minutes.
“Students from 1st to 5th grades can take online courses for 30 to 45 minutes, for up to 3 days a week. 5 days a week for 6th to 8th grades with a duration of 30 to 45 minutes. For 9th and 10th grades 5 days a week for 30 to 45 minutes.”
