Chikkaballapura: In view of the upcoming Karnataka State Cabinet meeting scheduled to be held at Nandi Giridhama on July 2, the Chikkaballapura District Administration has announced temporary restrictions on tourist movement at Nandi Hills, Skandagiri, and Bhoganandeshwara Temple.
Deputy Commissioner PN Ravindra said the restrictions will be in effect from 6 PM on June 30 to 3 PM on July 3, to facilitate elaborate security arrangements and logistical preparations for the Cabinet meeting, which will commence at 12 noon on July 2.
“We are implementing these measures due to the single-road access to Nandi Hills. A large number of ministers, senior officials, drivers, gunmen, and support staff will be arriving for the meeting. German tents are being set up to accommodate officials and media representatives, and arrangements are being made for meals, seating, and stay,” Ravindra said.
In addition to Nandi Hills, Skandagiri will also be off-limits to trekkers during the same period, following a request from the police department. No-Fly Zones will be enforced in the area.
The Bhoganandeshwara Temple will also be closed for tourists on July 2 from 6 AM to 6 PM, as Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, and other cabinet ministers are expected to visit the temple for darshan.
DC Ravindra emphasized that tourists should not make bookings for rooms or plan visits during this restricted period to avoid last-minute inconvenience.
“All these measures are purely precautionary and in the interest of safety, logistics, and smooth coordination,” he added.
