Belagavi: In a heartbreaking incident that has shaken Karnataka’s Gokak taluk, two brothers from Kaparatti village died within hours of each other — one due to illness and the other from a massive heart attack upon hearing the tragic news.
According to family sources, Satish, the younger brother, had been suffering from prolonged illness and passed away on Friday evening. Moments after receiving the news, his elder brother Basavaraj reportedly suffered a sudden cardiac arrest. Family members immediately rushed him to a nearby hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival.
The back-to-back deaths have left the parents devastated, having lost both their sons on the same day. “It’s as if lightning has struck us twice,” a grieving relative said.
The emotional connection between the brothers was described as inseparable by villagers. “When Satish died, Basavaraj couldn’t bear the news. Within minutes, he too collapsed,” said a neighbor.
The double tragedy has cast a pall of gloom over Kaparatti village, with hundreds turning up to pay their last respects.
