San Francisco / Bengaluru: In a tragic development, the Consulate General of India in San Francisco has confirmed that the body of missing Indian student Saketh Sreenivasaiah has been recovered by local authorities in California.
In an official statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), the Consulate expressed deep regret over the incident and extended heartfelt condolences to Saketh’s family and loved ones during what it described as an extremely difficult time.

Local police authorities have formally confirmed the recovery of the mortal remains. The Consulate stated that it remains in close coordination with law enforcement agencies and is in direct contact with the family to provide all necessary assistance.
Officials have assured full consular support, including coordination for required documentation and arrangements for the repatriation of the mortal remains to India at the earliest possible time.
Saketh Sreenivasaiah, a student from Karnataka pursuing higher studies in California, had been reported missing earlier, prompting concern among family members, the Indian community, and diplomatic authorities.
