Migrant workers unlikely to come to Karnataka in current situation: Angadi

At a review meeting of SWR in Bengaluru on Wednesday, MoS for Railways Suresh Angadi advised officials to train local workers and use their services for various railway projects, as the chances of workers from other states coming to Karnataka in the current pandemic situation are bleak.
Projects such as doubling and electrification of the Pune-Miraj-Londa line, a second terminal at Byappanahalli, a coaching shed at Krishnarajapuram and a composite carriage repair workshop at Kolar were discussed at the meeting.
On the occasion, Angadi released a book, ‘Covid Warriors of Bengaluru Division’, which highlights the selfless service of railway staff and their families in the war against the coronavirus.
Ajay Kumar Singh, SWR General Manager, K.C. Swami, Chief Administrative Officer, Construction, Ashok Kumar Verma, Divisional Railway Manager, Bengaluru and other senior officers were present at the meeting.
