Bengaluru: To manage the surge in passenger demand during the festive season, South Western Railway has decided to extend the bi-weekly special express train services between Sir M. Visvesvaraya Terminal (SMVT) Bengaluru and Bidar.
Train No. 06539 (SMVT Bengaluru–Bidar Special Express) will continue to operate from January 2 to February 27, 2026, running every Friday and Sunday. Meanwhile, Train No. 06540 (Bidar–SMVT Bengaluru Special Express) will operate from January 3 to February 28, 2026, running every Saturday and Monday.
The special train services will operate for a total of 17 trips, and there will be no change in the existing timings, halts, or coach composition, railway officials said.
However, due to non-interlocking works scheduled at SMVT Bengaluru on January 4, temporary changes have been announced.
👉 The train departing Bidar on January 3 (Train No. 06540) will terminate at Yelahanka instead of SMVT Bengaluru.
👉 Similarly, the train scheduled to depart SMVT Bengaluru on January 4 (Train No. 06539) will originate from Yelahanka.
During this period, train services between SMVT Bengaluru and Yelahanka will remain cancelled, the South Western Railway clarified.
Passengers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly.
