As closing arguments were delivered Friday, the trial of Hadi Matar, accused of attempting to kill famed author Salman Rushdie, approached its conclusion. The New Jersey resident was charged following a knife attack during Rushdie’s lecture in western New York last year, leaving the author seriously injured.
