Tumakuru/Bengaluru: In a chilling case of domestic violence, a woman named Geetha was brutally murdered by her husband Naveen, who allegedly stabbed her 20 times at their rented house in Antarasanahalli, Tumakuru district.
According to police sources, the incident came to light when the house owner visited the couple’s residence to collect rent and discovered Geetha lying in a pool of blood. Shocked by the scene, the landlord immediately alerted the local police.
Preliminary investigations suggest that Naveen, who was reportedly under the influence of alcohol, killed Geetha after a heated argument. The couple had been married for two years and had a young son. Their relationship, which began on social media, had seen frequent disputes in recent months, police said.

Locals revealed that Naveen often consumed alcohol and was prone to violence. On the night of the incident, a major altercation is believed to have broken out between the couple, culminating in the fatal stabbing.
The police have launched a manhunt for Naveen, who is currently absconding. Forensic teams and dog squads have been deployed at the crime scene to collect evidence and aid the investigation.
Officers from the Tumakuru rural police station are leading the investigation and are working on multiple leads to trace the accused. “We suspect Naveen committed the murder under the influence of alcohol. A case has been registered, and efforts are on to apprehend him,” said a senior police official.
The incident has sent shockwaves across the locality, highlighting the growing concern around domestic abuse and the need for timely intervention in family disputes.
