Unidentified Individuals Armed with Machetes Disrupt Filming of 'Koragajja' Movie
BENGALURU:
Chaos ensued on the set of Sudhir Attar’s movie ‘Koragajja’ when a group of unidentified individuals armed with machetes stormed the shooting location on Friday.
Renowned actor Shubha Punja and Bollywood’s famous dance choreographer Ganesh Acharya were present during the incident, as they were shooting a song sequence in Kalasa near Kudremukh. While Shubha Punja was performing in the song, Ganesh Acharya had choreographed the dance.
Without warning, a group of individuals brandishing sharp weapons rushed onto the set, causing the movie crew to halt filming and evacuate the area. Unfortunately, this is not the first time the production of ‘Koragajja’ has faced obstacles.
Trivikram Belthangady, the film’s producer said that these repeated disruptions may be the result of vested interests who do not want the movie to be made. He explained that these individuals claim to be divine dancers, known as “daiva narthakas,” and intentionally create disturbances during shooting. Previous incidents have resulted in damage to the set. Belthangady questioned the motive behind preventing the production of a movie based on the legend of Koragajja.
The film crew has encountered similar problems in other locations as well, but they have persevered despite the disruptions. Sudhir Attar’s return to directing a Kannada movie after many years has attracted a talented cast, including Kabir Bedi, Shruti, Bhavya, and others.
