
CHAMARAJANAGAR:
An associate of the late forest brigand Veerappan died late on Wednesday in a Mysuru hospital.
Bilavendran, 70, was serving a life term in the Mysuru prison for his role in a land mine blast at Sorekaimaduvu near Palar on the border of Chamarajanagar district 25 years ago. 22 persons died in the blast. His death sentence was later converted to a lifer.
Bilavendran belonged to Marthalli village near Malemahadeshwara in Hanur taluk of Chamarajanagar district.
Ten days ago, he was admitted to KR Hospital in Mysuru after he fell unconscious. He died without responding to treatment. Sources said he was suffering from a neurological disease.
