Staff say morale is up, working as a team
BENGALURU:
Even as many companies are telling staff to work from home, a start-up has shifted its operations from Bengaluru to Tamil Nadu, 480 km away. The 12-member team of Vumonic Data Labs based in HSR Layout has been working on a farm in Thevaram town of Theni district since March 2. The farm is owned by the CEO?s grandmother.
Staying far from the present Covid-19 affected areas and working as a team has been a positive experience. The staff begin their day with exercises soon after sunrise, work till 5 pm, and then go out for fun activities like trekking and swimming.
“We tried to work from home, but it became strenuous and the staff started panicking after seeing people moving around wearing masks. Some of them were being told by relatives to return to their hometowns. But now things are positive, working on the farm as a team,” said a staffer.
The team is keen on staying away from Bengaluru till the virus scare ebbs away. They would also like to use the farm as a ‘getaway office’ every fortnight.
