Bengaluru: In a major enforcement initiative aimed at preventing road accidents, the Bengaluru Traffic Police conducted a special drive against drunk driving from December 22 to December 26, 2025.
During the five-day operation, as many as 1,63,176 vehicles were checked across the city, leading to the booking of 2,304 cases of driving and riding under the influence of alcohol, according to an official press note issued by the Bengaluru Traffic Police.
Officials stated that the intensified checks were part of a broader strategy to ensure road safety, particularly ahead of the year-end festivities when instances of drunk driving typically rise.
The Traffic Police have clarified that such special enforcement drives will continue on a regular basis to curb reckless driving and reduce road accidents across Bengaluru.
Motorists have been urged to cooperate with enforcement personnel and strictly follow traffic rules in the interest of public safety.
