Bengaluru: A major protest erupted in Yelahanka Old Town, Kempegowda Ward No. 01, against the Congress government in Karnataka, following allegations of substandard and unscientific asphalting work. Residents claimed that despite recent roadwork, potholes have already reappeared, leading to frequent accidents and fatalities.
In response, Yelahanka MLA S.R. Vishwanath spearheaded a “Pothole Filling Campaign” and road blockade protest to highlight the negligence. The campaign witnessed the participation of several BJP leaders, local residents, and party workers in large numbers, demanding accountability from the state government.

Protesters accused the ruling Congress government of corruption and mismanagement, stating that poor-quality roadwork has put thousands of commuters’ lives at risk. The agitation called for immediate road repairs and long-term measures to prevent recurring accidents caused by potholes.
