BENGALURU: The retired Director General of Police, B.N. Garudachar, aged 97, passed away early Friday morning. He is survived by two sons and two daughters, one of whom is legislator Uday Garudachar.
The final viewing will be held at their residence on Krishna Road in Basavanagudi, as per family sources. Originally from Bindiganavile village in Nagamangala taluk of Mandya district, Garudachar had a distinguished career in the police department, serving at various levels.

Garudachar, an IPS officer, also served as a member of the Karnataka Administrative Tribunal (KAT). The final rites are scheduled to take place at Wilson Gardens electric crematorium on Saturday evening, according to family sources.
B.N. Garudachar, the father of BJP legislator Uday B. Garudachar from Chikpete, held senior positions in various districts, including Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) and Commissioner of Police in Bangalore. He retired as DIG-IGP.
