BENGALURU:
Indians stranded in various countries due to Covid-19 are being brought back to India via the ‘Vande Bharat’ airlift. The first phase ended on May 13 and the second will commence on Sunday and go on till May 22. Indians are being ferried from 31 countries, and 149 aircraft will land in 15 cities across the country.
This time too, pregnant women, the elderly, those with health problems and those who have lost their jobs have been given first preference to fly back. On arrival, they have to undergo quarantine.

In the second phase, 17 flights will come to Karnataka from 14 countries. A flight is scheduled to arrive in Mangalore on Monday. There will be 3 flights from the US, 2 from Canada, and one each from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Oman, the Philippines, France, Germany, Qatar, Indonesia, Ireland, Japan and Australia.
